LASER
VASCULAR REMOVAL
 Laser Vascular Removal is currently
the gold standard to remove facial
and leg teleangectasia, vascular
birthmarks, port wine stain rosacea,
spider and thread veins. Based
on the principle of selective
photo-thermolysis, a laser light
is absorbed by the haemoglobin
within the blood in the vascular
lesion and converted into heat,
to create a selective thermo-injury.

removal for the past 10 years.
We have treated thousands of
patients without any long term
complications. In particular
Dr Russo has been instrumental
in the 90 s, in the design, development
and FDA approval of a variety
of laser vascular removal systems
and has over 15 years of clinical
expertise. He was the first physician
to develop and use the Long Pulse
Nd:YAG laser for vascular removal,
a technology now utilised worldwide
and, over the years, he has trained
hundreds of physicians around
the world.
HOW
IT WORKS ? Based
on the principle of selective
photo-thermolysis, a
laser light is absorbed
by the haemoglobin within
the blood in the vascular
lesion and converted
into heat, to create
a selective thermo-injury.
Usually a course of 3
treatments are required,
at an interval of 4 to
8 weeks, in order to
treat all lesions. Depending
on the colour of your
skin and size of the
vascular lesion, a variety
of laser systems can
be utilised including
IPL, KTP and Nd:YAG.

Depending to your skin
type and vascular lesion,
Dr Russo will prescribe
the correct laser treatment
in order to archive a
long lasting result without
any side effects or complications.
The treatment is generally not
painful, with a sensation similar
to a rubber band been snapped
on your skin. Modern laser systems
are very fast and normally takes
only few minutes to treat a small
area. Following the treatment
is recommended to avoid direct
sun exposure (sun-bathing) for
up to 2 weeks and the use of
an SPF product for up to 4 weeks
following the treatment.
